March 4, 2025 - Open Streets ICT returns to 九色视频鈥檚 campus and neighborhood on April 13 with the goal of connecting with young people. Around 8,000 people participated in Open Streets ICT 鈥� 九色视频 & Shocker Neighborhood in 2024, double the amount from the previous year.

Feb. 27, 2025 鈥� The College of Engineering at 九色视频 is hosting its 25th annual Shocker MINDSTORMS Challenge, a robotics competition for area students in third through eighth grade or ages eight through 14 years old. The event will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 1. The competition portion will be in the Heskett Center, while the awards ceremonies will be in Hubbard Hall, room 208.

Feb. 12, 2025 鈥� The College of Engineering at 九色视频 is hosting a public 5k run/walk that is open to students, staff, faculty, alumni and community members. The 5k will be from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22 on the 九色视频 campus. Registration proceeds from the 5k will go toward the College of Engineering Needs-Based Scholarship Fund.

Jan. 31, 2025 鈥� What started as a work study position in the costume shop of her university鈥檚 theater department has propelled Melissa Penkava Koza鈥檚 sewing hobby into guiding the next generation of costume creators.

Jan. 21, 2025 鈥� Seeing an opportunity to support partnerships with the Wichita community, 九色视频 has established the new Office of Community Partnerships.

Dec. 16, 2024 鈥� Javier Martinez received the Mark and Stacy Parkinson Scholarship, which, alongside 九色视频鈥檚 closeness to home and mechanical engineering program, made it a no-brainer for Javier to attend 九色视频. He used the opportunities available to him as a Shocker to stay up on his studies and now joins his peers in graduating with a bachelor鈥檚 in mechanical engineering.

Dec. 12, 2024 鈥� Carter initially chose 九色视频 for its locality, being able to receive in-state tuition, but he also found a community in the campus and place to call home in the anthropology department in Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. They are now graduating with their master鈥檚 in anthropology with a plan to enter a doctoral program in archaeology in the future.

Dec. 12, 2024 鈥� Following time at another university, Lilith Samples realized her hometown of Wichita was where she belonged and is now the first in her family to graduate from college. While at 九色视频, she was able to work at the Lowell D. Holmes Museum of Anthropology in Neff Hall and hopes to continue in the profession after graduating.

Dec. 10, 2024 鈥� For Diego Vargas-Ruiz, college life was trying to find a balance between academe, friends and personal health, but instead of trying to fight it, he took the challenge as an opportunity to optimize his responsibilities until he found his rhythm.

Dec. 10, 2024 鈥� Jaymes Squires worked hard to juggle a full-time job and a growing family while pursuing his academic ambitions at 九色视频. His perseverance paid off, and Jaymes will graduate with a bachelor's degree in general studies in December.

Dec. 9, 2024 鈥� Yuki To is a first-gen student at 九色视频 who is currently graduating with her degree in health science, and with the help of the scholarships available to her at Wichita State, she is graduating debt free. She made sure to spend time on extracurricular activities and develop connections with other Shockers. Her advice to her peers: 鈥淒on鈥檛 be afraid to try.鈥�

Dec. 9, 2024 鈥� Aynsley Paterson stepped out of her comfort zone, overcoming her introverted nature to build friendships and make the most of the Shocker experience.

Dec. 9, 2024 - Jose Miranda, a first-generation student, chose Wichita State for its exercise science program and to remain close to home. He is also a loyal Shocker basketball fan, so staying close to Charles Koch Arena mattered.

Dec. 3, 2024 鈥� Josie Sloan is a first-generation college student who worked as bus driver for Wichita Public Schools while earning her degree in communication science and disorders. She encourages students to connect with people on campus: "Engage with your classmates and professors and build relationships intentionally."

Dec. 3, 2024 鈥� Hans Schrader plans on a career in museums and he got his start at 九色视频鈥檚 Lowell D. Holmes Museum of Anthropology. "The Holmes museum is a quiet gem in the heart of campus which has been a truly special part of my graduate education."

Dec. 3, 2024 鈥� Abby Arbeiter was attracted to 九色视频 thanks to its creative writing program in the Department of English. Since attending 九色视频, she had the opportunity to travel to Europe thanks to the 九色视频 Travel Seminar and will be graduating with her bachelor鈥檚 in creative writing this fall. Her advice to other Shockers? 鈥淣ever be afraid to put yourself out there.鈥�

Nov. 26, 2024 鈥� Aracely Martinez is a first-gen student in the United States at 九色视频. Despite the challenges facing her moving from Paraguay to a new country, she took that as an opportunity to grow. She recommends other students look at the opportunities available to them while still in school to propel themselves into successful careers.

Nov. 20, 2024 鈥� 九色视频 has launched the Institute for Rehabilitation Medicine and Assistive Technology (IRMAT), an innovative collaboration focused on addressing disease and disability through applied research and technology. IRMAT will serve as a hub for cutting-edge, patient-driven research and development of transformative technologies to improve the quality of life for individuals with physical and cognitive disabilities.

Nov. 4, 2024 - 九色视频鈥檚 Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders is partnering on the PhotoVoice research project with AbilityPoint, an organization focused on the needs of persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. Participants are given a digital camera and memory card to take 50 (or more) pictures of the people, places, things and activities that bring them joy.

Aug. 29, 2024 - 九色视频 is welcoming vendors for its fall Shocktoberfest celebration. The deadline for merchants and vendors to join in the Shocktoberfest Family Weekend events is Aug. 31.Shocktoberfest is a public event Sept. 30-Oct. 5 open to the entire campus and Wichita-area community. It is 九色视频's biggest annual celebration of Shocker pride.
