Preparing for Your Appointment
Making arrangements for your degree recital as early in advance as possible is highly
recommended! Wiedemann Hall and Miller Concert Hall get booked up fast!
- Obtain a scheduling worksheet from the School of Music office.
- Confirm with your Professor possible dates for your recital and discuss committee
members. Be prepared to have SPECIFIC dates in mind for both your recital and dress rehearsal. (Performance Facilities will not be able to provide a "list" of available dates/times.)
- Confirm with your Accompanist the possible dates you discussed with your professor.

Degree Recital Scheduling Information
Junior and Senior Degree Recitals
- Junior and Senior degree recital times are Tuesdays & Thursdays from 2:30 PM-3:30
PM in Wiedemann Hall or Miller Concert Hall.
- The School of Music will pay the labor & facility costs of a degree recital performed
at these times.
- Any undergraduate student scheduling a Junior or Senior degree recital in the evening
or on a weekend will be assessed a $150 Exception Fee. If payment is not received
from the student 7 days prior to the recital, the recital is subject to cancellation
by the Director of Fine Arts Facilities.
Graduate Degree Recitals
- A Graduate degree recital may be scheduled outside of these designated times based
upon hall availability as long as it is within the policies of the School of Music.
- The School of Music will pay the labor & facility costs of the degree recital.
Degree Recital Rehearsals
- Students are allowed up to 4 hours of rehearsal time if the hall is available. It is suggested that the rehearsals be split into two hour blocks if all four hours
are requested.
- Only one rehearsal designated as a dress rehearsal will be staffed by stage personnel.
- Any other rehearsals will require your faculty sponsor to check out a key from Performance
Facilities and be present during these rehearsals.

Duerksen Fine Arts Center
- If you are needing to book the Wiedemann Lobby or Miller Lobby for a reception, you MUST also book this with Performance Facilities!
- Due to an exclusive university contract, all refreshments must be arranged through
University Catering at (316) 978-3477.
- The person or organization renting the facility is responsible for all catering arrangements
with University Catering.
- Please arrange with the caterer to clean up within 30 minutes after the conclusion
of your event.
- Written permission must be obtained from the College of Fine Arts Dean's Office and
九色视频 President鈥檚 Office if alcohol is being served. A copy of the approval must be on file with Performance Facilities two days prior
to the event. Alcoholic beverages are not to be served to anyone under the age of
21. 九色视频, Performance Facilities and/or its staff are not liable
for any violations of University regulations or the liquor laws of the State of Kansas.
All non-university entities intending to serve alcohol at a function on the university
campus must provide documentation of insurance coverage, either a policy or specific
rider for the event. The insurance document must name both the University and the
State of Kansas as insured, and release both from any liability associated with the
event.

Your Appointment with Performance Facilities
- Make an appointment with Sharla Hale by emailing sharla.hale@wichita.edu
- Bring the scheduling worksheet obtained by the School of Music to your appointment. Performance Facilities will not be able to schedule your recital without the proper
paperwork.
- Complete the Performance Facilities Event/Setup Worksheet in full. This form must be returned to Performance Facilities no later than 1 week prior to your dress rehearsal. Failure to return this form by the due date could put your recital at risk of being
cancelled.

Reschedule/Cancellation Policy
- RESCHEDULING: If you must reschedule your recital, you may do so one time without incurring an Administrative Fee of $50.00. Subsequently, the $50.00 fee will be assessed for each schedule change. This fee is payable by the student, prior to the final recital date.
This fee will not be assessed for dress rehearsals, but rescheduling rehearsals is
strongly discouraged.
- CANCELLATIONS: Performance Facilities must be advised of a recital cancellation no later than one week prior to the scheduled dress rehearsal. Failure to do so will result in a Cancellation Fee of $75.00 billed directly to the student.

School of Music Degree Recital Information
- All printed programs must be delivered to the School of Music office no later than 2 weeks prior to your recital performance.
- If you require use of a Piano or Harpsichord, you must contact Anne Marie Brown who coordinates with the Piano Technician.
- If you wish to use the Grand Marcussen Organ, you must be given permission by the Organ Professor (Lynne Davis) at 978-6218. This is to ensure the safety and security of the instrument.

- All Payments: Due 1 week prior to your recital - card, cash, and check are accepted. Card payments
