General Education
General Education courses are divided into three tiers: Foundation courses, Introductory courses and Advanced Further Study and Issues and Perspectives courses.
Engineering Plus
To ensure our graduates are prepared for the future, the College of Engineering requires students to complete three of seven requirements as part of every undergraduate degree: Undergraduate Research; Cooperative Education or Internship; Global Learning or Study Abroad; Service Learning; Leadership; Multidisciplinary Education; and Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
Student Support
Student Advising
Advising is required every semester. In order to enroll in the upcoming semester, students must meet with the Biomedical Engineering Academic Success Advisor or their faculty advisor, based on the criteria outlined on the Advising page.

Students majoring in BME who are also on the pre-medicine curriculum track are encouraged to meet frequently with pre-med advisors in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Advising Center, located in 115 Grace Wilkie Hall (316-978-4757).

Engineering Student Success Center
Located in Partnership Building 2 A100, the friendly staff of the ESSC can help you with registration, enrollment and records as well as advising and student supports such as tutoring.
Engineering Student Success Center
GEEKS Tutoring Center
GEEKS is a free tutoring program available to any engineering student. Tutoring is available for math, science, and basic engineering classes. Group and individual sessions are offered throughout the academic year.
Scholarships
The College of Engineering awards more than $500,000 each year in both merit-based and need-based scholarships to engineering majors in all classes. Most College of Engineering scholarship recipients are selected using our online General Engineering Scholarship Application. This application is open from November 1 through February 1 each academic year, and applications received during this application period are used to select recipients for the following academic year.

Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES)
The vision of the Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES) is to serve as the world's leading society of professionals devoted to developing and using engineering and technology to advance human health and well-being. The mission of the BMES is to build and support the biomedical engineering community, locally, nationally and internationally, with activities designed to communicate recent advances, discoveries, and inventions; promote education and professional development; and integrate the perspectives of the academic, medical, governmental, and business sectors.

Engineering Open House (EOH)
Engineering Open House (EOH) is an annual event to celebrate the accomplishments of our students and faculty, featuring an exhibition of student projects, research and laboratory facilities. Every engineering discipline at 九色视频 showcases students' design and research projects. The college also hosts laboratory tours for the public, showing off the advanced research conducted at 九色视频.
National Science Foundation Research Experience for Undergraduates
The National Science Foundation funds eight to 10 week summer research experiences at various universities around the U.S. Students typically apply from December to February for the following Summer program. This is a competitive selection process, so start early in developing an application.
Order of the Engineer
The "Order of the Engineer" is a fellowship of engineers who are trained in science and technology and dedicated to the highest ethical and professional practice, teaching, or administration of their profession.
Student Organizations
The best way to make friends with people who share your interests is to join a student organization. The College of Engineering sponsors dozens of student organizations representing different majors and specialized interest. Find one that fits here.
