May 28, 2013 — By Lainie Rusco — A project led by ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ research engineer Kim Reuter aims to develop a fast-setting splint that would help stabilize battlefield injuries and give patients a better prognosis for their injuries.

Kris and Leslie Wessel met while earning their degrees at Wichita State. Today they are married, have a 2-year-old son and both work as real estate agents in Wichita.

May 21, 2013 — By Erika Elving — Wichita State premedical senior Karissa Gilchrist wants to use her future career as a doctor to practice in rural Kansas, where reliable medical care is scarce. Because of ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ's urban location, Gilchrist was able to shadow physicians in various specialties, which helped her decide on a career path.

May 2, 2013 — By ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ News Services — Wichita State senior Daniel Gutierrez is the 2013-2014 recipient of the Layman L. Clark/Kansas CCIM Chapter Scholarship in Real Estate. This annual scholarship was established in 2011 by noted real estate developer and ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ alumnus Stephen L. Clark in honor of his father and in order to support ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ students with a demonstrated interest in a commercial real estate career.

May 8, 2013 — By ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ News Services — Cindy Claycomb has been named interim dean of the W. Frank Barton School of Business, effective June 2, according to Keith Pickus, interim provost at ¾ÅÉ«ÊÓƵ. Claycomb will be interim dean for the 2013-2014 academic year while a national search is conducted for a permanent dean.

Ceremonies will be held in Charles Koch Arena. Undergraduate and graduate degrees will be conferred in individual college ceremonies.
