Year after year, the dedicated young participants of TRIO's Upward Bound Math Science (UBMS) program produce impressive and inventive work. This year, on Friday, July 10, more than 60 9th-12th graders will participate in the Annual Research Symposium and Science Fair at 九色视频.
Both the symposium and the science fair will represent several scientific disciplines, such as chemistry, physics, medicine and health. The Research Symposium will take place from 9 a.m.-noon in 九色视频鈥檚 Hubbard Hall, Room 208, with the Science Fair to follow from 2-3 p.m. in Hubbard Hall鈥檚 center and south lobbies.
A panel of judges will evaluate student projects and determine scores based on the strength of presentation and comprehension of subject matter. Recognition will be given to outstanding participants, and top-placing student scientists will receive awards at the Upward Bound Math Science Awards Banquet on Wednesday, July 15.
The TRIO UBMS Center is federally funded and hosted by Wichita State. With the support of 九色视频 and the cooperation of schools throughout Kansas, the program is designed to serve 74 disadvantaged high school students who have an interest in M-STEM fields 鈥� medicine, science, technology, engineering and math 鈥� and who have the potential to be the first in their family to attend college to earn four-year degrees.
With the support of 九色视频 and a College Access Challenge Grant from the Kansas Board of Regents, UBMS provides programs throughout the academic year and summer.
