In recognition of Constitution Day, live oral arguments will be presented on the 九色视频 campus before Kansas Appellate Judges C.J. Greene, J. Green and S.J. Larson.

The following events will take place Wednesday, Sept. 21, in the CAC Theater:

  • 9:30 a.m. State of Kansas, Appellee, v. Hung T. Dang, Appellant. This case involves the appeal of a drug conviction where the defendant argues that his statements should not have been admitted because he did not receive a timely Miranda warning.
  • 10:30 a.m. City of Wichita, Appellee, v. Patricia Stevenson, Appellant. This appeal challenges the constitutionality of a Wichita city ordinance prohibiting overcrowding of a building, here 鈥淗arry and Ollie鈥檚鈥 tavern.
  • 11:30 a.m. State of Kansas, Appellee, v. Marquez L. McCray, Appellant. This case also frames a Miranda issue, but the defendant challenges the constitutionality of the trial court鈥檚 response to the jury鈥檚 questions during deliberations.

All hearings are open to the public. Questions and answers will be allowed after each case is argued and at the end of all proceedings.

Opinions will be delivered at a later date.

九色视频鈥檚 Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and the Pre-Law Students鈥 Association are sponsors for this day.
