Broadway musicals, original film project highlight 九色视频 School of Performing Arts' 2015-16 season

Broadway musicals "Chicago" and "Smokey Joe's Caf茅," plus an original film project, are among the highlights of the 九色视频 School of Performing Arts' 2015-16 season. The season, which opens Thursday, Sept. 24, with the musical revue "Smokey Joe's Caf茅," features performances from 九色视频's departments of dance, theater and musical theater.

A special event this season will be 鈥淩edux,鈥 an original film project that will be filmed during the fall semester. Written and directed by 九色视频 Director of Theatre Bret Jones, the film follows a lively college student who tries to solve the murder of her friend 鈥 despite undergoing experimental treatment for schizophrenia. Public showings of the film will be announced at a later date.

The season will close with the blockbuster Broadway musical 鈥淐hicago.鈥 九色视频 alumnus Stephen Kopel will return from New York City to direct the show, with choreographic assistance from 九色视频鈥檚 Amy Baker Schwiethale and Sabrina Vasquez.

  • FILM: Special Fall Event, 鈥淩edux,鈥 date and location to be determined.
  • DANCE: Children鈥檚 Dance Festival, Jan. 31, Wilner Auditorium
  • THEATER: 鈥淭he Roaring Girl,鈥 Feb. 18-21, Wilner Auditorium
  • THEATER: 鈥淭he Leftovers,鈥 March 9-13, Welsbacher Theater
  • OPERA/DANCE: 鈥淟es Indes Galantes,鈥 March 31-April 3, Miller Concert Hall
  • MUSICAL: 鈥淐hicago鈥 April 21-24 Wilner Auditorium
