2018 Kansas City Employment Forecast released

九色视频's Center for Economic Development and Business Research has released its Kansas City Employment Forecast.

In 2018, Kansas City total nonfarm employment is projected to increase by 16,500 jobs, growing 1.3 percent.

The service sectors are forecast to grow 1.7 percent, adding over 9,000 jobs, as the fastest growing portion of the Kansas City economy. Production sector employment is expected to grow 0.2 percent, and trade, transportation and utilities sector employment is expected to grow 0.4 percent. The government sector is predicted to add over 1,400 jobs in 2018.


"Kansas City remains somewhat immune to the 'cold-like symptoms' across the state, as employment growth continues in the region," said Jeremy Hill, director for the Center for Economic Development and Business Research at Wichita State. "Although the labor market tightening in the region has been able to attract labor. Employment growth is expected to continue through the remainder of 2018."
