Reminders, deadlines and events

* Does your program / college have a mentoring program? Are you in the process of creating a mentoring program? Do you want to create a program, but have not started yet? The Career Development Center is in the process of reviewing mentoring software -- and we want your input! * In an effort to align the Wichita State tuition assistance program to the KBOR Strategic Plan (Foresight 2020), changes are being made to the program beginning with the fall 2018 semester. With the changes, eligibility will expand for dependents, and employees and dependents will have more flexibility in how they use the tuition assistance benefit. The application forms have also been consolidated, so there is now only one form for employee, spouse and dependents. * A representative from Leepfrog will be on campus to train faculty and administrators on the new electronic curriculum system on Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 5-6. Training will include how to propose new and edit existing programs and courses, as well as how the electronic workflow approval process works. Watch for future emails with more details and sign-up instructions for the training sessions.

* Melissa Walker, associate professor of public administration, has been named interim director of the Hugo Wall School for Public Affairs, effective Sunday, June 17. For more information, go to https://wsu.news/walkerinterim

* TV and web viewers can get a view of the Wichita State and downtown Wichita skyline thanks to a high-definition camera on top of Lindquist Hall. The recently installed camera is used during KSN-TV 3 newscasts, primarily during weather segments, but in other parts of the newscast as well. * The Kansas State High School Athletic Association (KSHSAA) Class 5A State Baseball Championship will be played today (Thursday, May 24) and Friday, May 25, at Wichita State's Eck Stadium. Go to https://wsu.news/statebbtourney2018 for more information.
