Regional Institute on Aging 2018 grant awardees

Two proposals have been selected to receive grant funding from the Regional Institute on Aging beginning June 2018.

Kyoung Hag Lee, associate professor of social work and Director of the Social Work Research and Evaluation Lab, will lead a research project titled "Limited English Proficiency, Depression Literacy and Stigma, and Depression among Asian Immigrant Elders in Kansas" with Amy Chesser, assistant professor of Public Health Sciences, and Betty Smith-Campbell, professor of nursing and 2018-19 Faculty Senate President, serving as Co-PIs.

Rui Ni, associate professor of psychology and Director of the Visual Perception and Cognition Lab, will lead a project titled "Effects of Racket Sports-Playing on Older Adult Cognition and Balance: Evidence from Cross-Sectional and 12-month Longitudinal Studies" with Jeremy Patterson, Katherine & Edith Erker Endowed Professor, director of the Institute for Interdisciplinary Innovation, and director of the Human Performance Lab, serving as Co-PI.

Both projects will include undergraduate researchers to further 九色视频's commitment to providing applied learning and research experiences to all undergraduate students. Each grant is $20,000, with funding provided by a gift from the estate of Evelyn Cassat.
