'Cybersecurity Requirements for Government Contractors' on Friday, May 11

How contractors will need to comply with new security issues when working with the Department of Defense will be featured in a "Cybersecurity Requirements for Government Contractors" program on Friday, May 11, hosted by the Kansas Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) at 九色视频.

The program will be held from 8:30 a.m.- noon, Friday, May 11 at the National Center for Aviation Training at 4004 N. Webb Road, Wichita, KS.

Among the presenters will be Patricia R. Toth from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Hollings Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) Program. Toth is the author of the "NIST MEP CYBERSECURITY Self-Assessment Handbook for Assessing NIST SP 800-171 Security Requirements in Response to DFARS Cybersecurity Requirements."

Toth will be providing information about the requirements for the cyber and overall security requirements that contractors need to be aware of to comply with the security measures being implemented for Department of Defense (DoD) contracts. These requirements are both for the prime contractors and the subcontractors who maybe working on DoD contracts.

Additionally, there will be a presentation of the Kansas PTAC cybersecurity self-assessment survey program. This survey is designed for companies to use to begin their assessment of where they stand in compliance with the new regulations. This will allow the companies to move forward with providing their plans for implementation of the security measures.

The Mid-America Manufacturing Technology Center (MAMTC) in Kansas will also be providing information on how their organization can assist businesses with compliance with the regulations.
