Geology Department and EEPS to host lecture today (Friday, April 20)

The 九色视频 Geology Department and the Earth, Environment and Physical Sciences (EEPS) program are hosting a lecture by Susan D. Erlenwein, director of Sedgwick County Environmental Resources and HHW, from 1:30-2:30 p.m. today (Friday, April 20) in 101 Geology Building. Erlenwein will provide insight on the work of environmental geologists through a review of a variety of environmental projects in Sedgwick County.

Some of those projects include planning and construction of Intrust Bank Arena; demolition of the Coleman building, including potential radioactive wastes; a sand pit study for Stormwater Contamination; waste analysis and special waste projects as well as answering questions about other environmental concerns and issues for Sedgwick County and the greater Wichita community. She'll also say a few words about the recent E-Waste Collection event held earlier this month.

Ray Leonard, AAPG visiting geoscientist will present "Oil in the 21st Century and Future Challenges from 3-4 p.m.
