Winner of the 2008 九色视频 School of Performing Arts National Playwriting Contest, "Gedenken" is a fictionalized account of a meeting between Adolph Hitler and Albert Einstein. Hitler arrives unexpectedly at Einstein's home. With the dramatic ascent of the National Socialists still on the rise, Einstein has read the anti-Semitic graffiti on the wall. Fearing for his life, Germany's most renowned physicist knows he must leave the country as quickly as possible but Hitler wants to keep Einstein in Germany, both for scientific and propaganda purposes. The two find themselves in a cat-and-mouse game of wits and moral conflicts.
