Michael Downs, who recently designed the set for the 九色视频 Theatre production of "The Night Thoreau Spent in Jail," will visit campus to present some examples of his work from his extensive career. Students and faculty from many disciplines will find his ideas engaging and applicable to many types of design and art. The presentation will be held from 12:30-2:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, in 210 McKnight. Downs will discuss his development process and his emphasis on the relationship of the audience or viewer to the design, whether it is a stage production or a product showcase. He recently designed the sets NBC used during its coverage of the Ryder Cup golf tournament.
